Old Valians Raised USD 1100 for Eaglesvale School Library
“If I may borrow from Mr Stokes message to the school in 1987, ‘A school is a living organisation which consists of a community of pupils, past pupils, staff and parents. Eaglesvale’s true lasting value depends on the community’s collective to maintain high standards.'”
To maintain the rich legacy of providing a good education, The PTA embarked on a renovation project of the school Library. The PTA planned to raise $50 000 and had kindly extended an invitation to Old Valians to be a part of this intiative. As Old Valians we welcomed the opportunity to continue our association with the school that nurtured us. As part of fundrasing for the Library the PTA held a raffle. As old Valians we supported this initiative by selling some raffle tickets to our community.
The PTA invited all Valians to support Eaglesvale through the purchase of at least one ticket. Each ticket was $5 and as Old Valians our goal was to sell 200 tickets and raise $1000. Through the sale of raffle tickets we were able to exceed our $1000 goal. We raised $1100
Although none of the alumni won any of the prizes, everyone was happy to have contributed to the initiative. The alumni continue to support the upgrading of the library and the school in general. You are invited to contribute to any of the alumni initiatives anytime not just limited to the raffle ticket that was done.
